John Adam at Great River Road Stadia Cross
|
|
|
|
Great River Road MX in Dyersburg, TN. was the site of the 2nd race in the Statia Series. There was a huge turnout of riders with good competetion. They started the youth races early in the afternoon and the older riders later and the pros around 5pm. It worked well and the track was good for the night portion of the races with just a little dust during the daylight hours. John was on and pulled 4 holeshots on the night and won 3 of the 4 motos. The only one he finished 2nd in was because of a great block pass and John tryed to retaliate in the same corner on the last lap but could not quite pull off the pass. Still an impressive night of racing with around 300 entrants.

BABY THE RAIN MUST FALL

Somebody must have said that at Sherwood during the Labor Day race because that is what happened. It rained and poured and rained some more. The track was super, I think the best it ever has been. Bill, Jimmy & crew really worked it. The traction was awesome and no dust and it wasn+IBk-t muddy well at least until the monsoon blew in during intermission. It really blew and dropped tons of water on the track. I will say, even with rain still falling, the track held up very well. There were some riders that couldn+IBk-t handle the mud and rain and left and some bikes couldn+IBk-t handle it and quit but several riders really showed they liked mud. Chris Permenter won his moto in the rain, John Adam pulled the holeshot and led both pro motos in the rain and mud and Blake Keeton won the final 125 moto in the best of form. On the dry track, Johnny Marley showed he has all the speed it takes to win as he won three of the four pro motos but int the fourth moto while battling with John Adam his bike gave up to leave Johnny stranded with a dnf. Congradulations to all the riders including the Mom+IBk-s race participants (there were serveral protests of cutting the track, modified in the stock class and the like) for great racing. Hope to see you all there next year.

These are a few of the pictures posted from PIne Bluff MX August race. (If you want to see the rest, click on Pine Bluff MX and then click where it says to see pictures) It was hot, the racing that is. Sure the weather was hot but the turn out was good, over 150 and the racing was even better. I have tried to take more pictures of more classes and even a few videos are posted. If you are on a dial up, they may take some time to load. Thanks to each and every one for getting along so well. It was hot but the tempers weren+IBk-t and you all were super. All the riders were back from Loretta+IBk-s and several out of state riders were there to show their speed. Gary had the new water truck out and the new cultivator whip the track into shape. The new Suzuki 4 stroke will be here in September. I have already seen one and started it. It is light and it should really be fast from everything I have seen. We are taking deposits, get your name on one now.

PIne Bluff Motocross race was held under perfect conditions. Gary has a new tiller for his tractor and it really works. The track was in awesome condition with mulitple lines, no mud holes and fun. You should have been there. Rain out was not in the vocabulary for this race even though it has been at lots of other tracks recently. Albert Barbaree was the suprise rider today with his son Ozzy on the sidelines after his crash at a Regional race two weeks ago. The fast riders of the day were John Adam, Craig Mayhan, Brian Green, Mike Edwards and Jason Dobbins. We will have results posted soon ( as soon as Gary gets them to us, that is).

Who is going to Loretta Lynn National Championship

The southern regional qualifiers were held at Freestone MX in Freestone County, Texas but it should have been called Lake Freestone. It rained Thursday so they canceled practice on Friday. It rained Friday with the sun peeking out every once in a while only to be followed by rain, rain, and more rain. It stopped raining Saturday morning and the track got better and rougher all day. It was a work out for any one racing. Saturday night brought more rain and the races for Sunday were canceled so the results stood after Saturday+IBk-s two motos. The riders from our area that qualified to go to the +IBw-BIG DANCE+IB0 are John Adam, Blake Keeton, Craig Mayhan and Tom Murry. Also qualifying from other regions are Tolland Weems and from the youth Jake Green. Congratulations to each of you. This is a super accomplishment no matter where you finish at Loretta+IBk-s, it is the pinnacle. Be Proud and represent yourselves and Arkansas well.

The Midsouth Series races at Sugarcreek, Missouri created quite a stir when the amateur portion of the races were canceled after one moto while the Pros were required to run two motos to earn the per moto pay out. The controversy is a continuation of the ones that have popped up in the form of fights at several of the events to rules and interpretation thereof. The rumors are that they didn+IBk-t want to damage the bikes and that the Missouri riders wanted to race the next day at the State Championship race to ........... The story is people are unhappy because Dirtbikemike canceled the second moto without taking a vote or poll of the riders. There have been instances in which racers had a fight but it was +IBw-after the checker flag+IB0 flew and nothing was done, no riders received any penalty even though they were in full view of everyone and were still on the race track. I was told by someone at the track that nothing would happen to either rider because they both had traveled so far to get there. I know of another case in which John was +IBw-T-boned+IB0 intentionally by a dirtbikemike sponsored rider and when John restrained the other rider, they were both penalized even though only the DBM rider was the only one throwing punches. At the beginning of the series, the information said there would not be any rain dates. Last week the Greenville, Texas race was canceled because of rain and then rescheduled to the only off date left in the schedule, June 22nd. Many people were already upset with that decision and then the decision to cancel after one set of motos at the Missouri race enflamed more anger.
The Midsouth Series has drawn a good turn out at most races and we hope these problems with all pass. The promoter is the one that has to make the decision and has to either ride the wave of success or suffer the agony of defeat. The next race is this weekend at Greenville. If you have first hand knowledge of this or have comments please e-mail me at supercenter@cablelynx.com.
